Thankfully worshipping, learning, and serving in St. Elmo, Chattanooga, and the broader region
All are welcome!
Worship with us Sundays at 10:00 a.m.
Thankful is currently in a time of transition after the departure of our 10th Rector, Mother Leyla.
The following prayer for our community during this season was written by Lay Chaplain, Carly Lane.
Prayer for Transition
Ever-living and ever-loving God, giver of every good gift:
Thank you for the good gift you have given us in Leyla’s rectorship.
We ask that you keep our eyes open to the goodness of your gifts as we move through this time of transition and seek to call a new rector to Thankful.
Strengthen this parish family in faith – relieve our fears and instill in us a shared sense of mission and a shared spirit of hope.
Help us work together in such a way that each of us is inspired to give of the gifts you have so graciously endowed us with.
Help us to listen to one another. Help us learn from one another.
Above all else, help us love one another.
Grant us the wisdom to discern your will for us and the courage to follow where you would lead as we search for a new priest and pastor, and as we strive to be ever more fully your Holy Church, the body of your Son, in whose name we pray. Amen.
